Not To Be Neglected. Thanksgiving.

Fall came and went...all too quickly.
I always enjoy the leaves.  They
are as beautiful to me on the ground
as they are on the trees.

 An evening in San Francisco.
Dinner and an opera.
Tosca did not disappoint.

It had been far too long since our
last visit to the gorgeous
War Memorial Opera House.

 Stunning chandelier.

Turlock High School Varsity Soccer Team
took the Central California Championships
again this year.  They advanced to the
next level and did an awesome job before
losing in penalty kicks to an undefeated team.
Ty was one of the team Captains.

Kris and his wonderful mother, Mollie,
during our Thanksgiving weekend in Vegas.

Call and Whitney drove down from Orem.

Breakfast at Grandma's.  A tradition that willl
be remembered and cherished for*ever!

Aunt Mary and Uncle Ric welcomed us with
open arms.  It had been far too long since we
had enjoyed their company.  A great weekend.

They prepared two turkeys.  One was Cajun and was
AMAZING.  The other, a wonderful recipe
from the food network.  GREAT food all around.

A thankful heart is not only the greatest virtue, but
the parent of all other virtues.

Davis and Becca with their adorable
new Harper May.

Mary, Piper, Ivy, and Rhett

What greater blessings to give thanks for at
a family gathering than the family
and the gathering.
~Robert Brault~

Coulson and Ivy's little Piper had our whole
family "wrapped."  She just had love to spare!

Ty and Coulson.
Out for a little target practice with the guys.

Dodd and Kris
The guys just had a blast!

Haha.  I tried!

Annalise and Sam's little Peter.

Dodd and Zan are ALWAYS so welcoming.
They open their home for party after party.

Sam and Annalise's little Alina.

In other news, Ty suffered a broken arm during
a soccer game.  He required surgery.  It's been
the arm injury from $#*%.  Won't go away.
The ulnar bone is not very protected by muscle
and was not responding to a cast. It was necessary
to surgically place a pretty good sized
plate in his arm.

He's now in a short arm brace.  No sports
for the rest of the year.  Can't risk a fall.

Chase spent Thanksgiving with the Rowan's.
Anne Marie spent Thanksgiving in Boston.

Our third and final Eagle!

Listen to the mustn'ts, child. Listen to the don'ts.
Listen to the shouldn'ts, the impossibles, the won'ts.
Listen to the never haves, then listen close to me...
Anything can happen, child.
Anything can be.
~Shel Silverstein~

A day trip to San Francisco while Anne Marie was home.

Chase began his Master's program in Linguistics
at San Francisco State.  Visiting his new apartment,
Kris and I were reminded of our own San Franciso days!

How much do I love you?
I'll tell you no lie.
How deep is the ocean?
How high is the sky?

Unfortunately, Ty's senior year in soccer was cut short
because of a broken arm.  The injury occurred during one
of his games and has left him sitting on the bench.
Big bummer.

The team went on to win CCC and now are in the playoffs.

Years ago, Grandma and Grandpa Rowan gave Anne Marie
a little crystal which hung in her bedroom window.  She
took it with her to college but somehow during her
move to Boston it disappeared.  It had become
very sentimental to her and she genuinely mourned its loss.
She took this little video recently after G-ma and
 G-pa surprised her by sending
her a new crystal.

After Conference dinner at G-ma and G-pa's.

Anne Marie said:  "Who needs Santa's workshop
when you've got Grandpa's?"  Always fun
to visit his shop.  She walked away with
a cool bracelet this particular day.

Turlock High School had its first Powder Puff
football game in over twenty years, I believe.
You can see the girls playing ball and the
guys being cheerleaders in this video.
(Ty is in back row, far right.)
They all get an 'A' for courage!

Elder Harper is from Kentucky.  He fried up some
genuine "Kentucky Fried Chicken" for Kris'
group of young men.  It was really delicious.

                                       Camille, Emily, and Ty
Emily Humphreys is one of Ty's best friends.  She took the
missionary lessons over several months and when the time
was right she was baptized.  Ty managed to baptize her even
with a cast on!  They 'practiced' in our front room. We love
Em.  She has become 'part of the furniture' at our home.

A few days after the Giants won the World Series, Ty
and a few friends drove to San Francisco and
spent the night with Chase so they could all
go to the big parade.  They had a blast.

And this was Call's contribution to
the celebratory cause!  Haha!
